Date of Birth: 21 July 1914, Rome, Lazio, Italy Date of Death: 31 July 2010, Rome, Lazio, Italy Birth Name: Giovanna Cecchi Spouse: Fidele d Amico' (1938 - 10 March 1990) (his death) 3 children Trivia Daughter of screenwriter Emilio Cecchi. She rewrote (with Ennio Flaiano) the screenplay for Roman Holiday (1953), that eventually won the Academy Award in 1954. Unfortunately the screenplay was not credited to them. Member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982 One of the most celebrated screenwriters of the post-WWII Italian cinema. She worked with some of the top directors, including Franco Zeffirelli and Michelangelo Antonioni. She was educated in Rome and first worked as a journalist and as translator of English plays for the Italian stage.
