Nothing concrete is known of his life, but he is traditionally thought to be blind and was probably born in either Chios or Smyrna. His epic poems were most likely memorized and recited in bardic lays and only later written down. Trade Mark Dactylic hexameter verse Trivia Has had his works translated more often and into more languages than any other person. Blind poet. Some reputable scholars had speculated that Homer is not a name of a man, but a group of poets using a collective name. Is from the island of Chios.
